I miss Publix!

So today was an exciting day at work today! (Some of you are going to be laughing and rolling your eyes while you read this but others of you will totally get it). To those of you who don't know about Publix, it is the most amazing grocery store ever! It is one of those places you don't know how great it is until you move away and no longer have it! Not only does Publix have the best subs, but their icecream is amazing! I love it! So, Kelly (my friend from work) sends me this picture today. Kelly and I have this special bond because we are both living in the mid-west but we are both from Florida. Thus, we both know about the amazing icecream that Publix produces. So while Kelly was home she took this picture. Thank you Kelly! Now, I sit here craving the icecream, craving the subs and craving the experience of shopping at Publix. If you have it, DON'T take it for granted!

Granny's Sauce

Granny's Spaghetti Sauce Recipe
1 Large can of Contadina Tomato Sauce (IT MUST BE CONTADINA)
*If you can not find Contadina sauce don't bother making it!
6-10 regular cans will work too.
1/2 cup Olive Oil
4-5 fresh Garlic Cloves
1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
1/4 cup fresh chopped basil
1/4 cup fresh Oregano
8-10 bay leaves
1 tbsp. crushed red pepper (depends on how spicy you like it)
1/2 cup sugar
*Add all the ingredients and let sauce simmer all day!

This is a family recipe that I am sharing with the world! You will not be disappointed! Serve it with yummy noodles and fresh French Bread!

Not my will, but yours be done.

As most of you know Matt and I have had some infertility problems. After many tests over the past few months, I just had an appointment with our Fertility Doctor (Dr. Valerie Ratts), whom I really liked. Anyway, I am now taking Clomid (a fertility medicine to help me ovulate). When I walked into work this morning I was given this article about other Christians who have infertility problems too. This was obviously providential (that I was given this article) because I was upset last night about not being a Mom yet. This article opened up my eyes to what the Lord desires for me. One part of the article said to be angry at God is a normal thing. And to ask him, Why me? is normal too. But the article also encouraged that rather than searching for answers to why you can not get pregnant, pray to God for help in coping and navigating this the best we can.

A lady in this article was talking about how she and her husband have been struggling for the past 6 years to have a baby and she says, "God does not desire for any couple to be infertile. When we suffer from infertility, God is grieving with us." What an encouragement this was to me this morning. It was eye opening to see that God is not against me in having a baby.

So while I sat at my desk this morning eating my grape-nuts cereal and banana my prayer had changed from, "Dear God please give us a baby" but to "Not my will, but yours be done."

Calling all Brides...

Hey Brides-to-be, I just have to share this with you! I was at the arch about a week ago and saw the coolest looking wedding party. There were about 9 bridesmaids and 9 groomsmen and they all had different color dresses and the groomsmen matched the bridesmaids dresses. I thought it was so neat! Also, the bride had picked Gerbera daises and they looked so good with dresses she had chosen. See the fun picture below!
Note: I don't know these people, I just took the picture because I thought the wedding party looked awesome (that is also why no one in the pictures is paying attention, they had no idea I was even taking the picture).

Our Visit with Matt's Family!

Matt's Aunt Terri, Uncle Nick, cousin (Cressie) and her boyfriend (Chase) came to town last weekend for a visit. It was so good to see them. We all went to a Cardinal's game on Friday evening. We had a great time even though it was really hot and we had standing room only tickets. We were able to sit down around the 5th or 6th inning. It was really cool to be in the new stadium and Chase (Cressie's boyfriend) is a big Cardinals fan so I know he enjoyed it! Then on Saturday we took them to Ted Drews (St. Louis' famous custard) and to the arch Saturday afternoon. Saturday evening we just hung out watching movies and eating icecream! We had a great, relaxing time with them. We hope to spend more time with them because they are only a 5 hour drive away!

This is the view from inside the stadium- pretty neat!

Carnival Cruise 2007

Sorry it has taken me so long to get some of our cruise pictures up. I have lost my camera cord that connects/loads my new pictures (Mom is it at your house?). Anyway, I got these pictures from my little sister. We had a blast on our cruise. Thank you Mom and Tom for planning, paying and making this cruise so much fun! We love you and appreciate all that you did to make this trip possible!
