To Shave or Not to Shave...

Well, Matt had decided to grow a beard. He started growing this beard about 3 weeks ago. It is time for my loyal blog readers to vote whether or not he keeps it (I do have his permission to do this). Please comment and let me know if the beard should stay or if the beard should go...I will keep my opinion until the end (even though some of you already know my thoughts on it). Start your commenting please...

Marjrie and I are adamantly against any facial hair what-so-ever. Well maybe the eyebrows can stay but they need trimming. Absolutely no nose hairs or hair in the ear either. Matt is awesome when his hair is cut short even shorter than that. Good luck Emily!

Supposed to be Marjie

You already know my opinion, but I'll tell you again. Keep it...at least for a little while. I think it looks good.

Well, Matt, you are very handsome with the beard, and I truly like it either way...but I'm a loyal friend, so I must vote to shave or AT LEAST to trim.

If he keeps it he has no need to feel embarrassed - it looks nice. BUT, I think I like the REAL Matt - the one with no facial hair!

Okay, you know my stance on facial hair - I am not a fan of it. Matt's beard looks nice (for a beard) but I would want him to trim it for sure. Of course, my vote would be to get rid of it entirely!

PS I am sure Wes would vote to keep it, so I guess our votes cancel each other out.

Well...as a friend and fellow student with Matt...plus I feel he needs some more support...I vote he keeps the beard but he should not shave his head again.

Not bad! What a handsome guy! (0f course, I'm totally prejudiced) Just keep the neck shaved - and not the head. Sorry Emily...;)

Ok, I know you're going to hate me for this Emily, but I'm voting for trimming it up real good. It's too burly, but I think if he shaves his neck and trims it so it's not so high on his cheeks it will look nice. Let him do this, and see how you like it. Then, if you still don't like it, he should definitely shave it off. Especially since he has to live with a soon to be VERY pregnant wife!

OK. I say shave and Kyle says to keep. I propose a compromise. How about a goatee???

Every seminary student worth his weight in water has to have the wild man beard at some point. Now you've had it, so the philosophical debate becomes what to do with it??? Well, the problem is that it looks as if it exactly matches your hair in length so I would suggest trimming the edges so that people don't avoid you when you are coming towards them (I kept mine the same way and loved it, but other people don't, they think "unibomber") You want it to be thicker though, and the only natural way to get a beard to thicken is to shave it and grow it again. I still think clippers will be a good compromise. It won't be getting rid of it and it won't hurt your Emily or your pride.

LOL...thanks Michael.
Just so you all know...we are still in debate over this...i will keep you all posted! Matt seems to be recruiting NO votes at the seminary...not fair! My original post was to my "loyal blog readers"...hmmmm what do you think about that?

Well, I'll throw in my opinion on this one. I say since we are going into summer and not coming out of it, the beard should go. Plus, your wife is pregnant. Do anything she wants!

If you want your wife to kiss you and actually enjoy it (so she's not getting poked or tickled by hair) then SHAVE IT! If Emily is truly ok with it, keep it. But if Emily isn't happy, you better shave. ;-)

Shaving is an unnatural vice. I haven't shaved for 40 years. Thats over two months time I haven't wasted on a useless activity.
